Fear? Conquered.

I love teaching. As nerdy as that sounds I really honestly do. And today we got to go to the Ropes course. Which is exactly what it sounds like. I climbed up on a huuuuggeeeee log [similar to the one in the picture] and then only attached to a little rope and harness I walked out and across a log. Now would be a fair time to mention that I'm not the most fond of heights. But repelling down to the ground was so worth the fear. What a rush.

Next item on the list skydiving? Any takers? We'll see if I make it that far.

ExcitedExcitedExcited.

I'm seriously SHAKING with excitement right now. Just got out of an interview with a former instructor all about teaching internationally, which is my dream. He interviewed me for one of his projects as a student who wants to go into international teaching. And after the interview he told me "off the record" that after talking to me he was more than 110% confident that I could get hired straight out of college without any experience. PEOPLE, this is a HUGE deal. International schools at a minimum usually require 2 years of experience. He also told me that when we first talked about it last fall that he wasn't completely sure I would make it, that I could with some work but that he had not been sure. Now, he was completely moved. I'm absolutely floored. Shaking with excitement. Can't even believe that. What a compliment.

See one of these schools here.

I just wanna go abroad now. Can that happen?

I mean, can you imagine teaching at a school on this Island!? I die. That would be amazing. Whatta way to wake up!

Hope you're Wednesday was just as full of good news!
In other good news: Happy Hump Day!

Tuesday is the New Monday.

I just decided. Tuesday is the new Monday. Even though Tuesday's are gonna be the crazy day, I'd have to say this might be my best ever second first day of school. Mostly due to some assistance.

How to Get thru school.

Without these guys I would not be standing today, let alone be happy about it.

Dear Allergy Medicine and lemon water, I love you. Thanks for making and saving my day all in one. A sweet reminder this morning in James Chapter 1 probably didn't hurt either.

"Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires. So get rid of all filth and evil in your lives, and humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls." - James 1:19-21

Thanks for granting me a Saved Soul God.

First Day.

First day of Grad School today. Wowza. Not my best first day back ever if I'm being honest. Was attacked by the monster that I would call [hopefully] only allergies. Apparently I'm allergic to being awake, life, school, old buildings, weather. You name it and chances are I'm a sick little mess because of it right now. Oh well. At least we're one day closer to Friday. And I'm finally doing some work I lovelovelove. It's gonna be a lot but I seem to like it quite a bit already.

First Day Back

See? Nerd Alert. That textbook on my lap? I technically barely have any reading due for it for another week and a half. A sign? Maybe.

Happy Monday!

Funk da funk.

So I'm in a serious funk. For real. I can't seem to break out it. The lovely momma dedicates this funk to finals which are (unfortunately) approaching rather quickly. And this funk was probably not made better by the fact that I had to skip going to Bob's River place with some absolutely wonderful people to work on a huge project. Bleh.

The good news is that I got to do this project with a lovely friend which made the whole thing bearable to say the least. Here's a few snapshots from the evening. So it's not Bob's riverplace [and I'm still not super happy I missed it] but on some level it felt good to be productive. Here's some views from our studying spot :)

[so artsy]
["Can you see me peepin'?!"]
[campus]

Now here's a question.. what do you guys do to get out of a funk? Any suggestions?

Monday's are rough.

Monday's are rough.

Above is how I feel after a full day of classes. Most particularly after my double block art class.

All I have to say is thank goodness for wonderful momma's who always send you back to college with da best leftovers. Seriously. It may not look like it in this photo but in that gladware lies the most delectable Shepherd's Pie. YES! It makes me very very happy and makes this Monday bearable :)

Happy Monday [And thankfully almost Tuesday] All!

Not quite Reality.

So i'm cured! Well maybe not quite, but I'm back at school and back in class. I did promise my dear momma that I wouldn't be social just yet and have been back in my room and going to bed early every night this week! Here here! I'm kind of proud of myself...now if only I could be productive with the homework that is quickly and quietly building up.

I've also noticed since i've been back on campus that there are a TON of people at this here school. I mean i've always heard that we have 50,000 students (that's JUST STUDENTS! ekkkk!) on campus but after Christmas Holidays and then a week of quarantine there just seems to be a ton of people on campus. That picture is of my actual campus... in just one of the plazas. so. many. people. my poor little eyeballs can barely take it all in!

Oh well, back to Reality I guess.
