It's my birthday and I'll cry if I want to.

But seriously.

Birthdays are so rough. And awesome. And rough when you just sent your family off. I'm so thankful to have a tribe full of awesome people that make missing them hard.

A year ago I was sitting on the beach, thinking about how different 26 would be, how weird 25 was and looking forward to the craziest year of my life yet.

Now here I sit one year later, one year wiser, one year older, celebrating 27 in Uganda, Africa. This year I want to show up. Show up in life in big ways.

We get one big life here on Earth and I want to make it count. I want to be able to say goodbye to year 26 proud of what I've learned and excited about all that God is doing for 27. I know myself better than I did a year ago- wouldn't that be the greatest? If we could end each year and enter another knowing and liking ourselves better and better? Being more comfortable in our own skin. Trusting ourselves and our bodies with the work we have in this life. Thanks Jesus for continued understanding and love as we move through this insane thing called life.

26, you've been an adventure. A wild, crazy, epic adventure full of terrible moments and joyful moments. Moments that brought me so much understanding about the world and my place in it. Moments that were difficult and uncomfortable and full of strife and frustration. Moments that brought so much joy and laughter I was in tears. Moments of friendship and love and purpose. Thank you. Thank you for giving me another year to be and to learn and to impact and love.

27 you'll be no different.

Upcoming.

I absolutely adore other people's birthday's. I also love birthday week's. An entire week of excitement and anticipation. For the next few days I'll probably be missing just for that reason. It's birfday week for this lovely lady. I am the luckiest. So blessed to call her my momma.

I'll be updating soon! Hope you all have a fantastic week/weekend!

Opinions Please?

Okay so in roughly 1 1/2 months I turn 21. 21. This is kind of a big deal. And even though I love Birthday's I usually limit that to other people's. My birthday kind of stresses me out. So what shall I do for my 21st? I like dressing up and dancing, but I'm not a huge crazy party animal. So what is left to do? What's the middle? What would be fun? Does anyone have any good, fun, crazy, but not tooooo crazy ideas? Sometimes a girl just needs some help.

Hope you're day is fabulous.

It's a Birthday Kind of Day!

Today is a special day. Today is the very day that B, one of my oldest and dearest friends turns the magical 21! As you can see from the pictures we've been friends for NINE years, which considering we were 12 when we met and are now 20 and 21 we've changed a ton, so 9 seems like a pretty big number.

Last night we talked on the phone at exactly 12am for our annual birthday phone date, and it absolutely astounds me how we have grown up so much yet it feels like nothing at all has changed in our friendship. We talked about the "good 'ole days" and how different things are and how much fun we used to have. And how horribly olllllddddd we are becoming when we know that we really aren't old at all. We also discussed all of our childhood dreams we have yet to fulfill.. such as travel, become CEO of a walmart, and write our own rap album. (We were such cool kids!) I can't wait to see how different things are in 10 years and what new adventures we have!

I can't wait to see how much more change happens as the years get bigger! I wish I could be there with you tonight on your big 21st! I feel like it's something we've talked about forever.

"Here's a little something from me to you. One is pretty cute and new and the other, well it might make you kinda blue. And no matter what we go through, what we achieve and what we do, Please know that I will always, always, always be here for be here for you."

Happy Happy Birthday B!

Love always and forever,

L.
