This is the only song I can think of right now.

Apologies.

Dear little bloggie,

I'm so sorry that I have been ignoring you lately. I have started so many posts only to save them and keep on with my life. I haven't been updating you and loving on you like I wanted to. I promise I'll start to take better care of you soon. But mostly this is why I've ignored you: Insert Art Project Disaster 2011. I don't draw bloggie. I don't. I love keeping up with you and doing crafts and pretending to be artsy with my photography and dreaming. But drawing? Not so much. Here's the end of Self-Portrait Disaster of 2011:

There it is folks. My "self- portrait". Personally? I don't see it. But hey at least this week it has a face! It may or may not have taken me 4 weeks to get a face on that sucker... but hey! it works. Oh and the green is a shading technique we learned about.. I'm not usually green. Promise! So the moral of this story dear blog, is that I promise to try and stop ignoring you now. I really do.

Awkward and Awesome Thursday!

Awkward:
- Going to the gym and having the girl look at my ID and say my last name out loud and chuckle. Chuckle. My name is not that funny people. Not at all. Are we 5? Cause you look older than 5. And we're in college. Silly.
-The Awkward game. Let me tell you about the awkward game. It basically comes from one of my best guy friends. Wanting to make me feel as awkward as possible. All. the. time. It's okay. It almost always makes me cry from laughter. And I'm not very good at it.
- Self- Portraits. Staring at yourself for hourrssss on end. Who knew I had so many wrinkles so young? I sure didn't. Thanks for that. Really. Thanks.

- Movie nights with awesome people.
- Planning bible study. [Seriously. I cannot get enough of it!]
- Saturdays. Enough said.
- A weekend off at the Beach this weekend. Yesss!

Monday's are rough.

Monday's are rough.

Above is how I feel after a full day of classes. Most particularly after my double block art class.

All I have to say is thank goodness for wonderful momma's who always send you back to college with da best leftovers. Seriously. It may not look like it in this photo but in that gladware lies the most delectable Shepherd's Pie. YES! It makes me very very happy and makes this Monday bearable :)

Happy Monday [And thankfully almost Tuesday] All!

Awkward and Awesome Thursday... on Friday [Again]

Awkward:
- Being at work and getting a Freshman's phone number.. ummm helloooo! I'm wayyyyyy older than you. Punk.
-Putting 4 [yep you read that right, 4] contacts into my eyes. Yep I got contact cases confused and in my sleepy post cruise state I put allllll 4 in my 2 eyes. I'm cool.
- Avoiding people you used to be friends with who are 4 feet away from you. Awkward.
- Most "Bridal" shower games. Yep, I think so.

Amazing:
- Throwing a Bridal Shower for this lovely Lady Tomorrow :)

- A FREEEE concert tomorrow night. Yippee!
- Watching the lovely Gators play
- Just not being in class on Saturdays. Maaaagicallllll I tell you. It's some serious stuff.
- Going to see one of my very first college friends and acting like a Freshman Thursday Night. FTW (For the win!)
- Being able to call my momma whenever my little heart desires cause I'm back in the U.S.S.A!

Happy Weekend All.

i'm Back and other sad stories of the day.

Sooooooo i'm back from Mexico! Whichhh is good on some levels butttt let's face it folks. I'm no longer in Mexico. I might be in mourning. I've had a rather difficult time adjusting to this "real life" thing I'm back in.

BUT, in happier news Mexico was amazing! I loved it. If they had left me there I probably would have been okay. Really. So here's a sweet view from Mexico and I promise [cross my heart and hope to die] that I will give a full in depth report of how absolutely amazing it all was. Promise. Once I've slept a bit more.

I have a few posts I've been working on that have yet to be finished. It'll be good. Promise. Enjoy the rest of your week everyone!

Books.

"Date a girl who reads. Date a girl who spends her money on books instead of clothes. She has problems with closet space because she has too many books. Date a girl who has a list of books she wants to read, who has had a library card since she was twelve.

Find a girl who reads. You’ll know that she does because she will always have an unread book in her bag. She’s the one lovingly looking over the shelves in the bookstore, the one who quietly cries out when she finds the book she wants. You see the weird chick sniffing the pages of an old book in a second hand book shop? That’s the reader. They can never resist smelling the pages, especially when they are yellow.

She’s the girl reading while waiting in that coffee shop down the street. If you take a peek at her mug, the non-dairy creamer is floating on top because she’s kind of engrossed already. Lost in a world of the author’s making. Sit down. She might give you a glare, as most girls who read do not like to be interrupted. Ask her if she likes the book.

Buy her another cup of coffee.

Let her know what you really think of Murakami. See if she got through the first chapter of Fellowship. Understand that if she says she understood James Joyce’s Ulysses she’s just saying that to sound intelligent. Ask her if she loves Alice or she would like to be Alice.

It’s easy to date a girl who reads. Give her books for her birthday, for Christmas and for anniversaries. Give her the gift of words, in poetry, in song. Give her Neruda, Pound, Sexton, Cummings. Let her know that you understand that words are love. Understand that she knows the difference between books and reality but by god, she’s going to try to make her life a little like her favorite book. It will never be your fault if she does.

She has to give it a shot somehow.

Lie to her. If she understands syntax, she will understand your need to lie. Behind words are other things: motivation, value, nuance, dialogue. It will not be the end of the world.

Fail her. Because a girl who reads knows that failure always leads up to the climax. Because girls who understand that all things will come to end. That you can always write a sequel. That you can begin again and again and still be the hero. That life is meant to have a villain or two.

Why be frightened of everything that you are not? Girls who read understand that people, like characters, develop. Except in the Twilightseries.

If you find a girl who reads, keep her close. When you find her up at 2 AM clutching a book to her chest and weeping, make her a cup of tea and hold her. You may lose her for a couple of hours but she will always come back to you. She’ll talk as if the characters in the book are real, because for a while, they always are.

You will propose on a hot air balloon. Or during a rock concert. Or very casually next time she’s sick. Over Skype.

You will smile so hard you will wonder why your heart hasn’t burst and bled out all over your chest yet. You will write the story of your lives, have kids with strange names and even stranger tastes. She will introduce your children to the Cat in the Hat and Aslan, maybe in the same day. You will walk the winters of your old age together and she will recite Keats under her breath while you shake the snow off your boots.

Date a girl who reads because you deserve it. You deserve a girl who can give you the most colorful life imaginable. If you can only give her monotony, and stale hours and half-baked proposals, then you’re better off alone. If you want the world and the worlds beyond it, date a girl who reads.

Or better yet, date a girl who writes."

Home Sweet Home :)

There really isn't anything better than being home when you're in college. It's just all kinds of good fun and relaxation. I love the ability to walk to a full fridge, sit on a real couch, see my best friends, and play with the cutest pup ever. And hang out with those crazies. I love them. Really, I couldn't be any luckier.

Happy Weekend!

It's a Happy Hump Day Today!

Today is Wednesday, which in the real world means that its only the middle of the week but in my current college world that means that I only have ONE three hour class between me andddd spring break! yippee!! I could not be more excited. This past few weeks has been crazy. I'm ready for some relaxation! I hope everyone else is having an equally wonderful hump day! I know it can be crazy [trust. me] and I just want to encourage you with a little love:

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have

peace.

In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have

overcome the world.” - John 16:33

How encouraging is it that we don't have to fret so much? {Or at least try not too.}

Happy Wednesday Everyone :)
